I just got a my first small tattoo Saturday, and it just occurred to me that I may not be able to snowboard for a while. I'm worried about the boot rubbing up against it, which I hadn't thought of that originally. Was hoping to go snowboarding later this week but I'm willing to put if off so I don't ruin my new tat.

I got my ankle tattoo a little more than three weeks ago, and have since taken some pretty long showers. The tattoo is now slightly swollen and red. I followed instructions, washing with antibacterial soap and then lotion, but it doesn't seem to be healing. Could the long showers be considered 'soaking'? And if so, what should I do?
